Today we took a drive over the Chaimu
Lava Flow to the Chulyu Gate, along tracks we have not covered since
2008. Along the way, we detoured along the tracks by Kuldip's Ponds
again and photographed Ibis, Martial Eagle and Sandpiper, plus some
very obliging Vulturine Guinea Fowl. On the return trip, we came
across Impala, Bushbuck, Waterbuck, Dik Dik, Masai Giraffe and a few
Elephants in the distance.

The strange thing about today was how
quiet everything was. We hardly saw any other vehicles and a lot less
wildlife than normal (although still many times more than we would
see in the same length of time in the UK!). We did, however, finally
meet up with some old friends; the family of Rock Hyrax that live
around the Bandas.
